Irrigation
Twins Lawn Service provides residential and commercial irrigation installation, repairs, maintenance, spring start-up and fall shut-downs.
- Turn on water supply
- Reintroducing water to the system and associated plumbing
- Checking plumbing connections for leaks and proper functioning
- Inspect back-flow device for proper functioning and signs of winter damage
- Checking electrical connections to timer and pump
- Checking each zones valve to make sure proper opening and closing
- Manually turn on each zone and visually inspect for leaks or other problems
- Adjust each individual sprinkler head as needed, including:
- Arc and radius settings
- Clean clogged nozzles; replace broken or improperly functioning nozzles or heads
- Checking rain sensor for function, if equipped
- Programming the controller
- Setting run and start times
- Set watering days
- Review settings or programming of controller with owner if necessary
- Perform any other repair or maintenance as seen fit
All sprinkler systems in Massachusetts (and New England for that matter) must be winterized at the end of the season to prevent winter freeze damage. The extreme temperatures require that the system be drained of all water and remain so throughout the winter to keep from freezing and parts from breaking.
- Turn off water supply to the system
- Drain system of any and all water
- Connect an air compressor to the system and blow out the lines zone by zone
- Turn off the controller for the winter
- Perform other repair or maintenance as seen fit
